bellamehblake:

i can’t believe i had to watch endgame two times to realize this, but hey:

you all know how tony gave steve his new shield, right? and when steve lost it the first time, tony told him “next time you lose it, i’m keeping it”. well i paid a little extra attention to that tiny detail and guess what? after that moment, steve never lost the shield again. it was always there on him, even throughout the whole chaos of battle. even when it broke into half and it was more or less useless, he tightened the straps and held it close to him. call me romantic but i like to think that steve didn’t let go of his shield EXACTLY because tony told him not to. because tony gave this shield to him. it represented and meant a whole lot of things for both of them. and steve hold onto it until the very end.
